Abstract
1429391 Valves NORRIS BROS Ltd 8 March 1973 11370/73 Addition to 1,277,855 Heading F2V In a control valve as disclosed in Specification 1,277,855, the thrust-receiving end of the valve member located in extension piece 13 is coupled to an operating shaft 21 which carries an armature plate 24 and extends through a solenoid 25 to engage a spring loaded manual control member 31. The spring 29 acts through the shaft to hold the control valve normally closed, which valve is opened when the solenoid is energized and attracts the armature plate. Alternatively the armature may be a permanent magnet which normally holds the control valve open or closed and which is repelled by energization of the solenoid to close or open the valve respectively.
