Abstract

1428938 2,5 - Dideoxy - streptamines SCHERICO Ltd 1 Aug 1974 [6 Aug 1973] 33966/74 Heading C2C Novel compounds (I) and (III) and their acid addition salts in which one of R 1 and R 2 is hydrogen and the other is hydrogen or C 1-4 alkyl, are prepared by reacting cis-4,8-dioxatricyclo-[5,1,O,O<SP>3,5</SP>]-octane with a hydrazine NHR 1 -NHR 2 to form a compound III or a racemate thereof which may be resolved (when one of R 1 and R 2 is C 1-4 alkyl) and, if desired hydrogenolysing a compound (III) and isolating the compound (I) formed as such, as a racemic mixture (when one of R 1 and R 2 is C 1-4 alkyl) or in the form of an acid addition salt.
