Abstract

1428885 Dispensing liquids ADAMOVSKE STROJIRNY NARODNI PODNIK 28 May 1974 [28 May 1973] 23552/74 Heading A4T A resetting device for a fuel-distributing pump flowmeter indicator comprises a cylinder 1, a piston 5 biased by a spring 11, with a piston-rod 3 pivoted to a lever 12, a spring-loaded pawl (15), Fig. 2 (not shown), on the lever 12 for engaging one of a series of projections 25 on a toothed wheel 16 to index the wheel 16 on pivoting the lever 12, and a pinion 17 engaging the wheel 16 and arranged to rotate once for each lever movement, this rotation actuating means (not shown), for resetting the indicator. The piston-rod 3 is connected by a cable 19 to means 23 for actuating a metering valve 24. In operation, on lifting a distribution nozzle (not shown), from a supporting lever, a fuel pump is activated, fuel from the pressure side of the pump entering a channel 9 to move the piston 5 against the spring 11, thus actuating the lever 12. The pinion 17 is thus rotated to zero the indicator, and the valve 24 is actuated to allow metered dispensing. At the end of dispensing the nozzle is replaced on its lever, the pump is stopped, and the spring 11 returns the piston 5 to its initial position, the piston 5 being constructed for limited leakage from the pressurized side to a discharge channel 10 to allow the spring 11 to drive it along the cylinder 1.
