Abstract

1428117 Fixing void formers to shuttering; concrete floors MONSANTO Ltd 3 Sept 1973 [28 Sept 1972] 44857/72 Headings E1S and E1W A foamed synthetic resin void former e.g. 6 is fixed to floor shuttering by means of a strip metal brace, e.g. 2, which may be generally L-shaped, as in Fig. 2, with a projection into the void former, or generally straight, as in Fig. 5, with a similar projection. In the former case the initially horizontal leg has holes (3) for shutter fixing pins, and a further hole (4) which can be used to support a suspended ceiling by bending the leg down (Fig. 3, not shown) after the shuttering has been removed. The projection 2 is bifurcated. In the embodiment of Fig. 5, wedges 15 hold the braces in place, and in both embodiments projections 5 prevent withdrawal of the braces from the concrete. The brace may have fixing holes, rather than projections.
