Abstract
1427616 IC engine pre-combustion chambers HONDA GIKEN KOGYO KK 31 May 1973 [31 May 1972] 26045/73 Heading F1B The pre-combustion chamber 7 is defined by a shell 11, e.g. of stainless steel, of lower heat capacity than the surrounding part of the engine. When the engine is cold the shell 11 is substantially wholly spaced from the surrounding part of the engine but when heated during running expands into heat-conducting contact with the surrounding part. A carburetter supplies richer mixture to the chamber 7 and then to the main combustion chamber 4.
