Radiants for gas fires. - In the manufacture of incandescent gasheaters of the kind consisting of a hollow perforated domca or ball made of fire-clay and like refractory materials, on the outer surface of which a mixture of gas and air burns, the dome a, Fig. 1, and the mixing-chamber b are made separately, and are connected by fitting the rim c into the gutter e, and making a, gas-tight joint with plastic or granular materials, such as gypsum. The perforations f are made by piercing the dome from the inside outwards, thus forming excrescences g which become incandescent.
