Abstract

1427575 Telegraphy SIEMENS AG 2 July 1973 [18 Aug 1972] 31378/73 Heading H4P An input circuit interposed between a line and a receiver, e.g. teleprinter or data system, comprises a threshold arrangement coupled to the line without conductive connection with the threshold level being determined by means of a non earth free adjustable auxiliary voltage source. In one arrangement a known inverter K1 is coupled through a transformer and rectifying diodes D1, D2 to a transistor T. If signal current applied to K1 rises slowly from zero to 40 mA, this is compensated up to a value of 20 mA by compensating current set for example at 20 mA by resistor R1 and supplied by a voltage source U stabilized by a Zener diode DZ, hence no current flows through T up to this point. If signal current exceeds 20 mA, this exceeds the threshold value and current flows through the base emitter path hence transistor T is rendered conductive. In another arrangement (Fig. 5, not shown) an opto-electric device (K2) provides a non- conductive coupling. The coupling may alternatively consist of a piezoelectric coupling element.
