Abstract

1427517 Credit cards and the like PLESSEY CO Ltd 7 March 1973 [10 March 1972] 11247/72 Heading B6A A recording card, particularly for use as a portable token, incorporates a recording layer of a material having a physical characteristic which can be changed to produce a variety of invisible but machine-readable record patterns and an optical display layer which covers at least part of the recording layer and produces a visible image of the record pattern. As shown a ferrite recording layer I is backed by a container of magnetizable particles in suspension in liquid or gas, the outer wall 5 having apertures 5b so that the particles 6a form a visible image of the magnetically recorded pattern.
