1427253 Antilipemic compositions T KANEDA and T TABATA 7 May 1973 21736/73 Heading A5B An antilipemic composition comprises (a) a nonsaponifiable fraction of soyabean oil containing about 45% of plant sterols, including campesterol, stigmasterol, and #-sistosterol, and about 20% of tocapherols and (b) an orally administerable carrier. The nonsaponifiable fraction may be prepared by saponifying soyabean oil with methanol in the presence of sulphuric acid, washing the product with water and subjecting it to molecular distillation.
