Abstract

1427151 Protective arrangements TRADE & INDUSTRY SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 27 June 1973 [28 April 1972] 19839/72 Heading H2K Earth-leakage detection apparatus for an electric battery includes means 22, 28, 30 connected to transmit through the battery from a first terminal 14 a signal (preferably at a frequency of 200 to 1000 Hz) to a second terminal 14 which is connected to pass the signal to receiving means 44, 42 which if the signal is below a predetermined value influences an amplifier 48 which controls a relay 52 and alarm 54. The components are arranged to provide a fail-safe feature in that operation of the alarm will occur should any component fail to provide its normal healthy condition signal.
