Abstract

1426877 Feeding to hoppers MOLINS Ltd 13 June 1973 [13 June 1972] 27477/72 Headings B8S and B8A When the exits 4 of a cigarette hopper 3 are closed, cigarettes fed to the hopper by conveyers 1, 2 build up but are constrained by a band 13 resting on the cigarettes and kept under tension. Weights 14 are attached to the band 13, and the ends of the band pass around and are secured to eccentrically mounted cylinders 9, 10. Feelers 15, 16 detect cigarettes on the conveyers 1, 2 and if the number of cigarettes on a conveyer diminishes, then the drive to that conveyer is interrupted.
