Abstract
1426798 Metal working presses FRIED KRUPP GmbH 24 Aug 1973 [26 Aug 1972] 40267/73 Heading B3H [Also in Division B5] A connecting rod for a press, for example a stamping press comprises two parts 2, 5 screw threaded together to provide longitudinal adjustment of the rod and includes an hydraulic overload protection which also stresses the screw threaded connection to prevent adjustment during operation. When an overload occurs a rod 7 connected to press ram 9 moves upwardly relative to the parts 2 and 5 to push packing 6 off sleeve 4 and thus release pressure in chamber 8. A switch 15 senses the drop of pressure and stops the eccentric drive 1 of the press.
