Abstract

1426765 Rollers INGERSOLL-RAND CO 16 Aug 1973 [15 Sept 1972] 38694/73 Heading F2U [Also in Division F4] A drum or roll (e.g. supporting an overlying felt layer for drying paper webs at, for example, 700‹ to 900‹ F.) comprises an annular grid structure 10, Fig. 2, having at least one length 12 comprising only waved strips 16 (e.g. at each end of the roll) and another length 14 comprising alternate waves and straight strips, 16 and 26 (e.g. between the lengths 12). The waved strips 16 may be those of Specification 1,426,345. The structure 10 may be supported as in Fig. 5, which includes hollow spokes 52 welded to plates 42, 44, 46 and radially slidable in clips 74, and due to a clearance hole around the shanks 70 of bolts 68.
