1426237 Electro-photographic half-tone images PENTACON DRESDEN KAMERA-UND KINOWERKE VEB 29 Aug 1973 [23 Oct 1972] 40587/73 Heading G2M An apparatus for the production of raster electro-photographic half-tone images from original images by a half-tone process contains two rasters and a sensitive electro-photographic such. An image of a first raster arranged in a subsidiary ray path is reflected by a semi-transparent mirror into the ray path of an optical system for the illumination of an image of an original on to a sensitive electro-photographic surface. A second raster of the same geometrical type as the first raster but with larger light areas and lower optical density is additionally situated to be (a) in contact with a transparent image original or (b) in the intermediate image plane of a two stage optical system. The two rasters are so adjusted that they have the same raster constant in the final image plane and the light areas of the first raster lie in the middle of the light areas of the second - ster. The optical density of the dark areas of the second raster is equal to the exposure range, expressed in logarithmic units, of the electro-photographic surface. The raster tone values of the first and second rasters lies between 60 and 90% and 30 and 60% respectively.
