Abstract

1425149 Valves AUTO RESEARCH CORP 24 Sept 1974 [25 Sept 1973] 41530/74 Addition to 1405494 Heading F2V A piston lift-valve seats on the end face 64 of an inlet conduit 60 and has an 0-ring seal 36 held against the end face of the piston by a dovetail ring 42 which is press-fitted, welded or soldered to a projection 25 on the piston. When the valve is closed under the influence of a spring 30 and fluid pressure acting on the rear face of the piston, the forward face of the dovetail ring abuts the surface 64 to define the deformation of the 0-ring and provide a constant surface area over which the inlet pressure acts. The valve is an improvement upon that used in the liquid distribution system of the parent Specification 1,405,494.
