1424890 Collapsible containers CEGEDUR SOC DE TRANSFORMATION DE L'ALUMINIUM PECHINEY 28 June 1973 [28 June 1972] 30788/73 Heading B8P A collapsible container comprises a pallet 5 having upper edge portions 51-54 profiled to provide grooves 512, 522, 532, 542 which are engaged by tongues 212, 412 on the lower edges of side walls 1-4, and further comprises a cover 6 having downwardly extending walls 61-64 which fit over off-set flanges 141, 241, 341, 441 on the upper edges of the side walls, the cover being provided with at least one latch 625 mounted in a wall 61-64 which co-operates with a keeper on the adjacent side wall 1-4 when the container is assembled and with a keeper on the pallet when the container is dismantled. The grooves 512, 522 are wider at the base than at the mouth so that the side walls 1, 2 must be slid into position in the direction 10. Tongue and groove connections are also provided along the vertical edges of the side walls. The side walls (3), 4 are moved in the vertical direction 40 so as to slide the tongues and grooves together and interconnect the side walls. The grooves 532, 542 on the pallet have vertical straight edges which are engaged by the correspondingly shaped tongues, 412 on the lower edges of the side walls (3), 4. In the dismantled position the side walls are stored on the pallet 5 and are enclosed by the cover 6.
