Abstract
1424487 Current supply line SIEMENS AG 14 Jan 1974 [19 Feb 1973] 01764/74 Heading H1A [Also in Division H2] A current supply line 1 for a high frequency induction heating coil comprises an inner conductor 8, a tubular outer conductor 3 coaxial with the inner conductor and a tube of solid inorganic insulating material 9 such as quartz glass, or ceramic, contained in the space between the conductors, the gaps 10 between the walls of the insulating tube 9 and the inner and outer conductors being filled with a filler compound such as silicone rubber. The tube 3 has a flange 4 sealed to the wall 2 of a container, in which a zone melting process is carried out, by a sealing ring 14. A copper tube 11 is soldered to the tube 3 and the interiors of tubes 11 and 8 serve to pass coolant through the induction heating coil within the zone melting apparatus.
