Abstract

1424125 Snap-action switches CONTACTUM Ltd 14 Nov 1973 [17 Jan 1973] 2443/73 Heading H1N An electric switch has fixed contacts 16, 17 and a movable contact member 20 rockable on an edge of a support member 19 and a rockable actuator 13 containing a bore 13g in which is an outwardly resiliently biased plunger 14 bearing on movable contact member 20 so that rocking movement of actuator 13 displaces the point of contact of plunger 14 with contact member 20 from one side to the other side of the edge of support member 19. Movable contact member 20 has lateral projections fitting into recesses in the base and one or both of the projections has a vertically extending arm 20b, Fig. 3, which mates with a tapered recess 13h in actuator 13 to break contact if the contacts weld or spring 15 fails.
