Abstract

1424059 Cartons H REISMAN 14 Sept 1973 [30 Oct 1972] 43321/73 Heading B8P and B8D A tubular cardboard carton 10A is provided adjacent one or both ends with peripherally spaced, inwardly extending pairs of projections 16A, 17A which are adapted to retain an end closure 40A in position. The end of the carton wall is folded over to lie inside the carton, excess material in this inner wall being formed into pairs of projections 16A, 16B by slitting the wall in a peripheral direction at spaced points around the wall. The end closure may be further secured to the carton wall by tube 32A. A line of weakness 44A divides the end closure into two portions 40A, 42A which may be hinged about tabs 32A when the line 44A is broken. Handholes 46A are provided in the end closure.
