Abstract

1423791 Refrigerating STAL REFRIGERATION AB 28 Jan 1974 [14 Feb 1973] 03780/74 Heading F4H A refrigeration plant for cooling goods, e.g. foodstuff, comprises a tunnel 2 having a conveyer (not shown) for transporting the goods from the tunnel entrance 8 to the exit 9 against a flow of air from an inlet 1 to an outlet 3. The tunnel is divided into zones A-D, each of which, apart from the exit zone A, is provided with a spray head 14, 15 for liquid, e.g. water. The arrangement is such that liquid, having passed through a cooler 4, is fed to the spray head 14 in the zone B. Liquid collected in the bottom of the zone B is fed by a pump 5 to the spray head 15 in zone C. Similarly, liquid collected in zone C is fed by a pump 6 to the spray head in zone D, which is provided with a drain 7. To prevent liquid from flowing from the bottom of a hotter zone to a cooler one, the liquid levels are controlled by spillways 11-13.
