Gas cooking-stoves.-Comprises detail improvements in a gas cooker of the kind wherein an oven and hot-plate arranged as in an ordinary kitchen range are heated by a gas fire which replaces the usual coal fire. Fig. 3 shows a stove with an oven 46 heated by three sets of burners, the flames of which play on refractory material 18 supported by a grid 17. A water tank 37 and heater 38 are fitted, and also an auxiliary burner 31. The burners, Figs 4 and 5, consist of dome-like caps 15 with parallel slitlike flame orifices; they are arranged on conduits 3 or mixing-tubes, to which air is admitted by bends 12 facing an orifice 13 in the front 8 of the stove. The front ends of the tubes 3 are removably attached to the front plate 8 by screwed bushes 9 with collars 10, through which pass the gas inlet pipes 23. The gas supply to each mixing-tube 3 is controlled by a separate tap 22 on the main 20, Fig. 4, to which gas is supplied by a pipe 19 arranged inside the fire-box so as to heat the gas passing through it. A perforated tube 24 controlled by a tap 25 serves as a pilot light. The rear ends of the mixing-tubes 3 are supported by a recessed block 6. A damper 27 may be opened to enable the combustion products to pass directly to the chimney during the preliminary heating of the stove. The burner 31 is supplied with gas by pipes 34, 32; the air inlet has a regulator 33. The chimney passes up through a plate rack and canopy above the range, and has an air inlet to allow the fumes to pass away from the canopy into the chimney. The oven has a drop door and a sloping top 42.
