Abstract
1422932 Door control apparatus HERGA ELECTRIC LTD 16 Jan 1973 [16 Oct 1971] 48217/71 Heading E2M In a door control apparatus a flexible tube member 6 is mounted along the leading edge of the door 2 for showing an obstruction and to provide an air-pressure signal to de-energize a drive motor 4 when the tube member senses an obstruction or when the door reaches its closed position. The apparatus includes a bellows 20 which expands when a solenoid 22 is energised to create a sub-atmospheric pressure in a chamber 18a of a diaphragm-operated electrical switch 18 mounted to close contacts 18b and 18c to actuate a relay 24 and drive the door 2 towards its closed position. Should an obstruction be sensed by the flexible tube member 6 the air pressure signal is fed through a conduit 12 to the chamber 18a causing the diaphragm 18d to move upwardly and open the contacts 18b and 18c to de-energise the relay so that the contacts 24a open and the motor 4 stops. The operation of the safety system may be overriden by depression of a button 26.
