Abstract

1422663 Liquid transfer apparatus EMCO WHEATON UK Ltd 19 April 1974 [29 May 1973] 26074/73 Heading B8E Liquid transfer apparatus mountable on a barge for bunkering a ship comprises reach arms 1, 2 mounted on a base 4 and relatively pivotable by rams 18, 20 and swivable on the base by a slew motor 16. The outer end of the reach arms mounts an assembly 5 having an inner arm 24 and outer arms 32 leading to movable bases 6, 7 supported on a platform 46 which also accommodates the operator and his control console 49. Swivel joints 25, 34 actuated by motors 50, 52 allow slewing of the platform 46 in a desired horizontal plane. An articulated linkage 26-29 connected between the base 4 and the outer end of the arm 2 ensures that in all positions of the arms 1, 2 the inner arm 24 of the assembly 5 and hence also the platform 46 remains horizontal while the pivoted outer arms 32 allow the bases 6, 7 to be extended and retracted.
