Abstract

1421603 Coated magnetic cores INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 19 Jan 1973 [14 Feb 1972 (2)] 2761/ 73 Heading B2E [Also in Division G2] Ferromagnetic solid cores having a median diameter of 50 to 1000 microns bear a first coating from 0.1 to 5.0 microns thick of polytetrafluorethylene and chromic and phosphoric acids and a second outermost coating from 0.1 to 10 microns thick of sintered polytetrafluorethylene. The cores may be steel beads. Both coatings may be applied in fluidised beds, into which the component materials are introduced with volatile carrier media. After the second coating step th eparticles are heat-treated to sinter the outer coating.
