Abstract
1420664 Timepiece vibrators SEIKOSHA K K 12 Sept 1973 [14 Sept 1972 20 Oct 1972] 42796/73 Heading G3T [Also in Division H3] A vibrator for an electric timepiece is formed from plane sheet with parallel vibratory arms 2 connected at each end by portions 3, 4 from which extend inner arms 5, 6 having adjacent free ends 5a, 6a, the centre of gravity being disposed at or adjacent one free end which vibrates perpendicularly to the plane of the vibrator. A foot 9 contains fixing holes 10 by means of which the vibrator is screwed to a bracket 12, Fig. 3, on a support plate 13. The end 5a carries a magnet 14 which co-operates with fixed sensing and drive coil(s) 18 in a maintaining circuit Figs. 5 & 6 (not shown). A screw 16 permits regulation of the timepiece frequency. The arm 5 also carries a plate 21 with a further magnet 20 which embraces a wavy track wheel 23 to drive the latter. A balancing mass 26 is fitted to the other arm 6. The frequency of vibration in the desired mode (#), Fig. 8 (not shown) is stated to be well spaced from the frequencies in spurious modes, and the magnets 14, 20 move in substantially linear paths at right angles to the plane of the vibrator. In an alternative embodiment the magnet (120,) Figs. 9-11 (not shown) which drives the wavy track wheel (123) is carried on the other central arm (106) of the vibrator.
