Abstract

The battery-operated pendulum clock has a permanent magnet, facing the upper part of the pendulum, cooperating with an inductive coilfixed to a conductive plate. The current through the coil provides a magnetic field which via the permanent magnet maintains the pendulum oscillations. The pendulum pref. comprises a balanced pendulum arm, with a weight at its lower end counter-balanced by the clock housing fixed to the other end of the pendulum arm. The conductive plate carrying the inductive coil is fixed to the rear of the clock housing above the oscillation axis of the pendulum, facing the permanent magnet which is fixed to the wall mounting supporting the clock.
