Abstract

1420663 Mixing apparatus UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE OF SOUTH MANCHESTER 16 March 1973 12696/73 Heading B1C Apparatus for rotating bottles or flasks e.g. for cell culture, comprises a disc 10 mounted for rotation about a substantially horizontal axis and means for mounting a plurality of flasks or bottles in an array across the disc with their axes parallel to the axis of rotation, the mounting means for each bottle comprising at least three rods 11. The rods 11 which may be of aluminium alloy may carry rubber collars 13 and flanges 14 for retaining the bottles while rubber buffers 39 are provided on the disc 10 prevent damage. The disc is driven slowly from an electric motor 16 with reduction gearbox and through a belt and pulley.
