Abstract

This comminution device has crusher arms (2) which can be pivoted about a fixed horizontal pivot axis (1) and a screening and conveyor device (6) located below said arms. The crusher arms (2) have a plurality of bearing axles (13, 14, 15, 17) with drivable crusher plates (precrusher plates 5, 4 main crusher plates 3 post-crusher plates 7). In this arrangement, the distance (h4, h5) between the precrusher plates (4, 5) and the screening and conveyor device (6) is at least equal to the distance (h3) between the main crusher plates (3) and the screening and conveyor device (6). Preferably, the distance (h4, h5) between the precrusher plates (4, 5) and the screening and conveyor device (6) is even larger, it even being possible for this distance (h4, h5) to be realised at any time with respect to a resilient bearing axle (14) which is mounted on the respective crusher arm (2) so as be movable in relation thereto. The diameters (D3, D4, D5) of the crusher plates (3, 4, 5) are smaller in the direction of the fixed pivot axis (1) whilst their circumferential speeds (u3, u4, u5) increase. If a crusher arm (2) has a plurality of crusher plates (3, 4, 5, 7) on its bearing axles (13, 14, 15, 17), said plates are offset axially with respect to one another.
