Abstract

1419463 Surgical injection apparatus DR EDUARD FRESENIUS CHEMISCH-PHARMAZEUTISCHE INDUSTRIE KG APPARATEBAU KG 11 July 1973 [12 July 1972] 32987/73 Heading A5R A device for squeezing an infusion solution from a flexible container (10) (Figs. 2 and 3, not shown), comprises a transparent envelope 1 without any outer covering and made from no more than two layers of flexible plastics film (e.g. P.V.C.), the envelope 1 defining a cavity in which container (10) can be entirely accommodated after insertion therein and the two layers are welded along lines 2, 3 to form an inflatable cushion into which inflating air can be introduced through a nipple 5. The layers are also welded along a line 4 to form a sleeve. A hand pump 8 and a vent valve 9 are connected to a tube 7 connected to nipple 5. A strip 15 bounded by weld 2 may have a hole 6 for suspension. The sleeve covers container (10) together with fittings, including a pressure gauge, which lead to a tube connected in use to a patient. A part only of the sleeve may be inflatable.
