Abstract

1419391 Coated printed plates RICOH KK 17 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 53102/72 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions B6 and G2] A lithographic printing blank, or a printing plate prepared from such a blank, comprises a cellulosic support, a surface image-receiving layer and an intermediate layer comprising a non-acrylic organic polymeric material, having at least two hydroxyl groups, and a compound containing at least two isocyanate groups. The image-receiving layer may be photoconductive, and consist of zinc oxide in a resin base. Preferably the support has a coating of a hydrophilic material, which may be electrically conductive such coatings may be present on both sides of the support. Lists of polymers which can be used in the intermediate layer and of hydrophilic coating materials are given.
