Abstract

1418955 Mineral mining installations GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA 4 May 1973 [5 May 1972] 21285/73 Heading E1F In a mineral mining installation in which a conveyor formed from channel sections 10 carries a guide means for a mining machine, the guide means is provided with upper and lower channels 19, 20 separated by a spacer 17 for a mining machine drive chain, and adjacent channel sections 10 are secured together by detachable connecting means accessibly disposed within the guide means and aligned with the spacers so as not to project into the channels. The guide means comprises upstanding plates 14 screwed to the side walls of the channel sections 10 with covers 24 pivoted at 26 for movement in direction P and spacers 17 are screwed to the plates 14. Each end of a plate 14 carries an upstanding spigot 28 and a connecting piece preferably a chain link 30 and is placed over the spigots to secure the channel sections together. A pin 32 fits into an inclined bore 32' in one spigot 28 to hold the link in place.
