Abstract
1418893 Clamps SAINSBURY & PARKINSON Ltd 15 Feb 1973 [18 Feb 1972] 7653/72 Heading E2B [Also in Division A4] A shelf 10 or 50 is mounted above a central heating radiator by means of a clamp comprising two spaced legs 16, 17 or 58, 59 connected intermediate their ends by a threaded rod 19 or 60 the effective length of which is adjustable by a wing nut 21 or 61 held captive on one of the legs 16 or 59, the rod being pivotally mounted on the other leg 17 or 58, the legs at one of their ends having respective jaws 18 for clamping on the radiator and at their other ends being apertured for sliding engagement or a rod 36 or 56 carried by the underside of the shelf 10 or by a frame 52 secured to the underside of the shelf 50. In use, when the clamp is tightened the legs tilt slightly so that they frictionally bind on the shelf rods 36 or 56. The shelf rod 56 may be adjustably positioned along the length of the shelf 50 by engagement of its ends in slots 54 in the frame 52 or in a depending border of the shelf. The shelf may be fitted at a rear edge with a sealing strip 11 to bear on a wall.
