Abstract
1418755 Making electro-erosion electrodes; electro-erosion LA NATIONALE SA 12 March 1973 [24 March 1972] 11743/73 Headings B3A and B3V An electro-erosion electrode is made by introducing an electrically conductive body 7, 8, 9 into an electrically conductive tubular sheath 1 and deforming the sheath 1 to grip the body so as to define around the interface between the body and sheath 1 at least three channels leading out on to an end face of the electrode. In one embodiment, sectional members 7, 8 and a wire 9 are inserted in a tube 1 which is drawn to join the components together to define an electrode having longitudinal channels. Additional wires (10) (Fig. 4, not shown) may be positioned between the members 7, 8. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown), wires (5) are positioned within a tube 1 which is drawn to join the components together and to leave interstices between the wires (5), the interstices constituting the channels. Other embodiments disclose different shapes of sheath and sectional members. The components of the electrode may be of copper and may alternatively be joined together by forging or pressing. A plurality of electrodes may be assembled together side-byside.
