Abstract
1418650 Drawing NIPPON KOKAN KK 29 Dec 1972 [29 Dec 1971] 60178/72 Heading B3P [Also in Division G3] In a method of drawing a tube 1 using vibra. tory energy, the ratio of the peak velocity of vibration to the drawing speed is maintained at a predetermined value within the range of 1À6 to 11À0. The tube 1 is drawn by a carriage 4 between a die 2 and plug 3 which is connected to a mandrel rod 5 which is in turn connected to a horn 8, transducer 7 and H.F. generator 6. The motor 12 driving the carriage 4 is connected to a tachogenerator 13 whose output representing the drawing speed is fed to a function generator 14 which amplifies its input by a preselected value equal to the desired ratio bebetween the vibration velocity and the drawing speed. The output from a sensor 9 representing the detected vibration velocity is made equal to the output from the function generator 14 in an equalizing circuit 15, whose output signal E c is applied via a band pass filter 16 to the H.F. generator 6 to maintain the ratio at the predetermined value
