Carpets, beating.-An apparatus for beating carpets in situ, and particularly for use with a vacuum cleaner, comprises a rotated shaft 1 on which are spaced disks 3 carrying between them pivotally-mounted bails 4. The device is shown embodied in a vacuum cleaner, the motor-driven fan spindle 10 being connected by a belt 14 with the shaft 1, which is arranged within a cylindrical portion 15 of the casing.
