Abstract

1418406 Freight containers BLOXWICH LOCK & STAMPING CO Ltd 26 Feb 1974 [13 Feb 1973] 6954/73 Heading B8P Vertical racking between the adjacent edges of a pair of hinged freight container doors 2 and 3 is prevented by a rigid plate 13, which is fastened (e.g. by welding; rivets or bolts) at 14 to one door and which has vertically spaced openings 18 receiving complementary projections 20 on the other door and the container door frame. The projections may each be formed by steel bushes welded directly to the frame and door, or alternatively, when the door is of wooden construction, Fig. 2 (not shown), the bushes are welded to a carrier strip and bolted to the door, The plate 13 is joggled to accommodate a sealing gasket 5 located between the meeting edges of the doors. The doors are held closed by operating rods having cams 8 engaging keepers 9 on the door frame.
