Concrete vessels. - Pre-cast frame members a are positioned on the stocks and are supported, prior to the application of the skin, by metal struts c passing through vertical holes b in the frames and having blunt conical ends d which bear upon metal plates j inserted in hard-wood blocks k carried by the foundation. Nuts h working upon the screwed part of the strut bear against the underside of the frames, which can be accurately positioned by operating the struts by means of a tommy inserted in the eyed ends f of the struts. After the application of the skin, the struts may be removed and the holes b filled with grouting.
