Abstract

1417929 Cattle housing SOLWAY ENGS LTD 21 Sept 1973 44364/73 Heading AIM A rectangular animal housing comprises a pair of lattice girders 20 on either side of a further lattice girder 42 extending longitudinally through the building. The girders are supported at the same height on columns. The girders 20 are provided with adjustable feed rails and together with girder 42, support floor sections 36, defining tractor and feed passageways, and slats 40, 50, defining the animal enclosure floors and spaced to allow animal effluent to drop through. The girder 42 constitutes part of a dividing fence and in a modification may be supported by an overhead truss, while in both embodiments the lattice girders 20 help support the roof. The building is designed to be erected with the ground level with the raised floor at one end and with the base at the other.
