1416949 Asphalt composition KAO SOAP CO Ltd 20 Nov 1973 [20 Nov 1972] 53844/73 Heading C3N An asphalt composition comprises asphalt and a monocarboxylic chromic chloride expressed by the formula wherein R is alkyl (C 1-21 ) or alkenyl (C 2-21 ), preferably in an amount 0À3-2% by weight based on the amount of asphalt. The monocarboxylic chromic chloride may be selected from chromic chloride acetate, propionate, butyrate, caproate, caprylate, laurate, myristate, palmitate, stearate, oleate, linoleate, eicosanoate, beheniate, acrylate, methacrylate or chromic chloride crotonate. Comparative examples describe the addition of stearic acid, magnesium stearate, aluminium stearate, zinc stearate, cadmium stearate, beef-tallow-alkyl propylenediamine, adduct of 1 mole of beef-tallow-alkyl propylenediamine and 3 moles of ethylene oxide, the oleate derivative of said adduct, and 1- aminoethyl-2-heptadecenyl-imidazoline-2.
