Abstract

1416591 Coated products DONETSU KOGYO KK 6 Feb 1973 5765/73 Heading B2E An electrothermic heat-generating structure is obtained by applying a mixture prepared by blending a composition of a silicone resin and a graphite powder with an organic solvent which is benzene, toluene, silane, a ketone or a petroleum solvent as a coating on the surface of a heat-resistant, non-electroconductive base structure, thereby forming an electrothermic heat-generating film, and heating the base structure at a temperature of 350 to 450‹C thereby to produce an electrothermic heat-generating structure of high thermal stability and stable electrical resistance. The substrate may be a sheet or tape and may be of heat-resistant glass, a ceramic material, asbestos, cement or a heat-resistant, fibre-reinforced plastics material. The electrical conductivity may be adjusted by adding one or more electrically insulating materials in powder form. Such materials are silicon oxide, mica, and magnesium oxide powders.
