Abstract
1415888 Paramagnetic gas analyzers. COMPTEURS SCHLUMBERGER 29 Nov 1972 [29 Nov 1971] 55169/72 Heading GIN In a paramagnetic gas analyzer, a pair of gas carrying tubes 11, 12 are arranged in respective gaps 21, 22 of a magnetic circuit 20 which is provided with an alternating magnetic field by a winding 25 energized with DC having AC superimposed thereon, respective heating elements 31, 32 being provided for each tube, and a pressure measuring device 13, 14, 15 being connected to the outlets of the tubes 11, 12. As shown, the gas to be analyzed is supplied to both tubes 11, 12. The heating elements are arranged on opposite side of the magnetic circuit thereby causing a difference in pressure between the gases in the two tubes. The measuring device is constructed as a chamber 13 separated by a diaphragm 14a which forms one plate of a capacitor 14. Alternatively, Fig. 4 (not shown), the gas to be analyzed is supplied to one tube and a reference gas is supplied to the other, the heating elements being arranged on the upstream side of the magnetic circuit. As shown in Fig. 2, the magnetic circuit is comprised of two E-shaped cores, and means 26 may be provided for adjusting one of the gaps for balancing purposes, Fig. 3 (not shown).
