1415184 Testing generators S G BOLSHAKOV G M VORONTSOV AA GAISENOK BD GANDIN I S DRABKIN V I ZANIN GP ILIN G I KITAENKO N A LAZAREVSKY J I MAXIMOV V V PAVLOV L M SEREBRYAKOV and J V UNYVALOV 21 Nov 1972 53739/72 Heading G1U In a method of testing a generator, for example a ship's generator, the generator 3, 18 is connected in parallel with the commercial main supply 19, the. generator's voltage regulator 9 is modified so that instead of receiving a signal proportional to the generator's output voltage, it receives a signal proportional to the generator's output current - which it therefore attempts to maintain constant - and then the generator is deliberately disturbed, e.g. by increasing the rate of flow of energy or fuel to its prime mover, and the way in which the regulator behaves is observed.
