1414533 Fuse holders ESSEX INTERNATIONAL Inc 4 June 1973 [28 June 1972] 26455/73 Headings H2E and H2G [Also in Division B3] A dielectric (e.g. nylon) base 26, is fitted with electrically conductive resilient retaining clips 19 (Fig. 4), of e.g. red brass, for at least one fuse cartridge 39, located in through cavities 33 in base 26, removably secured therein by a resilient pawl 37 engaging in rectangular apertures 11a in rear wall 22 of each clip 19. A row of clips is formed from one portion of metal (1) (Fig. 1, not shown) and suitably bent to produce a base portion 4 which may act as a bus-bar, terminals 23 for external connection, and individual clips 19, 19a, which each comprise front walls 17a, rear walls 22a, side walls (21a) and resilient looped member 12, 12a against which the end cap 43 of the fuse snugly abuts when inserted, being supported by portions 8, 8a of the front walls 37, 37a. Each fuse 39 extends through a cavity in base 26 defined by side walls 28, bottom wall 27, and partition wall 30 each having cut away portion 32. The base 26 may be secured to a support by integrally formed apertured ears 38. Flanges 34, 34a are provided in each cavity 33 as a further retaining means for each clip 19, In another embodiment (Figs. 10-12, not shown) the terminal portion 23 may be shaped so as to be crimped to a conductor. In other emdodiments, the fuse clips may be indivudally connected to separate circuits by, e.g. severing central base portion 4.
