Abstract
1413719 Al/Mg/Si alloy CEGEDUR SOC DE TRANSFORMATION DE L'ALUMINIUM PECHINEY 21 May 1973 [23 May 1972] 24138/73 Heading C7A An Al/Mg/Si alloy of composition:- The alloy may be used in the production of brazed articles e.g. heat exchangers by homogenizing at 580‹C, hot and cold rolling to size, coating with brazing flux, brazing at 600 to 620‹C in an air, controlled atmosphere or vacuum furnace using an Al/Si brazing alloy, cooling under a gaseous fluid e.g. air at 1‹C/second, cleaning and heating to 150‹C to 245‹C for ten minutes to one hour. The brazing alloy may be disposed between layers of the alloy of the invention or an intermediate alloy of the same composition as the alloy of the invention but containing less than 0.1% magnesium may be located between the brazing alloy and the alloy of the invention.
