Abstract

1413608 Automatic frequency control, frequency discriminators FUNKWERK KOPENICK VEB 10 Sept 1973 [21 Sept 1972] 42437/73 Heading H3A In an a.p.c. circuit, the oscillator 1 is controlled by a first error signal derived by comparing the divided down output of the oscillator and a reference signal f1 in a phase comparator 3 and by a second error signal derived by comparing the two signals in a digital frequency comparator 4 having its output coupled to a D/A converter 6. The frequency comparator, Fig. 2, comprises respective divide-by-two stages A1, A2 for each of the two signals to be compared, the outputs from which are applied to bistables B1, B2. The outputs from the bi-stables are coupled to a NAND gate 7. When the two frequencies are the same, one bi-stable remains "set" and the other "reset" and when they differ, a variable pulse width signal (Fig. 6, not shown) is produced which is converted to a varying voltage by the D/A converter.
