Abstract

1413448 Trioxane SOC ITALIANA RESINE SIR SpA 16 May 1974 [15 June 1973] 21923/74 Heading C2C Trioxane is separated from aqueous solutions containing it together with formaldehyde by subjecting the solution to evaporation at temperatures of 25-100‹ C. at subatmospheric pressure and with residence times of less than 1 minute under the evaporation conditions, with vaporization of 5-15% by weight of the solution introduced, and recovering the trioxane from the evaporated products. The starting solutions are obtained by the triminisation of formaldehyde in aqueous solution.
