Abstract
1413427 Rotary positive-displacement machines ATLAS COPCO AB 18 April 1973 18603/73 Heading F1F In a reversible pneumatic sliding-vane type motor a stator sleeve 12 has exhaust-air outlet holes 25 and at each end recesses 28, 33 serving as a compressed-air inlet port and a secondary exhaust-air outlet port, respectively, depending upon the direction of rotation, the inner surface of the sleeve between axial lines 36, 37 being circular cylindrical and coaxial with the rotor 16 and having a portion 35 in close proximity with the rotor to prevent leakage thereacross. Between the portion 35 and each of the lines 36, 37 the said surface has a further circular-cylindrical portion, which has its axis 38 or 39 parallel with and spaced apart from the rotor axis 40, as shown. Passages 30, 34 inter-connect the recesses 28 and recesses 33, each pair of recesses being connected to a respective hose fitting (one of the two hose fittings is shown at 32). The sleeve 12 and end-plates 13, 14 are clamped by a spring 15. The vanes 23 are biased outwardly by springs 24 and, preferably, compressed air in the slots 22 as well. The rotor is coupled to an output shaft 19 by a compound epicyclic gear-train 20, 21. As shown in Fig. 6, to effect the same performance for both directions of rotation the recesses 33 are identical to the recesses 28, the lines 36, 37 then lying between these recesses and the holes 25, which are centrally disposed.
