Abstract
1412895 Dry cell casing TUDOR AB 2 Nov 1973 [22 Nov 1972] 51071/73 Heading H1B The zinc container 5 of a Zn-MnO 2 cell is surrounded by a fluid-tight film 6 pressed against the bottom of the container by a cup-shaped contact member 10, the contact member making contact with the container at 11 and 12 and may be welded thereto at these points. A portion 15 of the film 6 overlies the top of the cell. Absorbent layers 7, 8, e.g. of highly absorbent pasteboard, for leaked electrolyte are situated, respectively, around the side and at the top of the cell. The layer 7 is between the film 6 and outer plastics case 4 and the layer 8 is between a lid 9 and the film portion 15. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) a further absorbent layer is positioned between the film portion 15 and the cell top 2 and the layer 7 is omitted.
