Abstract

1411934 Flanged rubber pipes EDDELBUTTEL & SCHNEIDER 4 March 1974 [3 March 1973] 9584/74 Headings F2G and F2P A rubber hose 1, with armouring 2 of a woven textile or metal material, is formed integrally with a rubber mounting flange 3 which is reinforced by the armouring 2 of the hose, and is formed with a number of through-holes, as 7, each hole having therein a protective sleeve formed from two bushes 8 of a plastics material, preferably a polyamide which are force fitted together so that shoulders 9 thereon abut the faces of the flange 3. Annular projections 10 to provide additional sealing are provided on at least the shoulder 9 which abuts the front face 4 of the flange 3, but may be provided on both shoulders 9, if desired. Annular projections 5 are also formed on the face 4 of the flange 3 and this face is backed by a support ring 6 of a solid or woven material, e.g. metal, plastics material or wire embedded in the flange. A loose flange 11 is disposed on the hose 1 to distribute compressive forces exerted by bolts disposed in the holes 7.
