Abstract

1411449 Feeding webs EICKHOFFUNIVERSAL WELLPAPPENMASCHINEN GmbH 19 Dec 1972 [20 Dec 1971] 58453/72 Heading B8R A roll 4 of paper is delivered to an unrolling apparatus on a carriage 14 mounted for movement on a rail 15 extending parallel with the axis of the roll, the rail being pivotable about a longitudinal axis to tilt the carriage and eject the roll. The carriage includes running gear 20 housed in opposed channel section members 16 of the rail. These members are fixed to a base plate 17 to which is bolted a flattened, circular section member 25 located in the U-shaped cutout portions of upright support plates 21. Thus for roll ejection, e.g. to a position between hydraulically operable, roll core engaging cones on hydraulically pivotable arms (8), Fig. 1 (not shown), of the unrolling apparatus, a lock 29 is released and the rail is manually pivoted to a position in which the base plate 17 engages the edge 28 of each support plate 21. A member (26) may facilitate correct roll location. The circular section member 25 may be located offcentre with respect to the base plate 17.
